The Adaptil evaporator is not recommended for use in cases of aggressive behaviour.
Uncertainty caused by fireworks and other loud noises
- Plug the Adaptil evaporator into the room where the dog spends most of its time or into the area where the dog can retreat when feeling uncertain, approximately 2 weeks before the expected fireworks. The longer the pheromone has to help prepare the dog for the fireworks, the better.
- Adaptil spray can be sprayed on the dog's bed to enhance the effect of the Adaptil evaporator.
Reducing uncertainty caused by being alone at home
- Plug the evaporator into the room where the dog spends most of its time.
- Adaptil spray can be used to enhance the effect of the Adaptil evaporator.
Acclimatisation to new situations or environments (new home, moving, a new family member or pet)
- Plug the Adaptil evaporator into a floor-level socket 24 hours before the puppy/dog arrives. Plug the evaporator into the room where the dog sleeps and spends most of its time.
- The evaporator must be plugged in continuously for at least 4 weeks. If necessary, replace the evaporator with a new refill bottle.
One bottle lasts approximately 4 weeks. The rate of evaporation depends on factors such as ventilation and the evaporator's location in the room. We recommend checking the liquid level after approximately 3.5 weeks of use.
The duration of use depends on the nature and cause of the problem and any concurrent behavioural therapy.
Replace the evaporator unit after 6 months or after using 6 refill bottles.
Store at room temperature.
